Making of Thosai & Idly - Traditional Indian Cuisine

The Interest Group of Kg Chai Chee CC-IAEC was enthusiastic in organising its second Traditional Indian Cuisine on 14 June 2009 (Sunday).

The group was led by Mdm H. Amaravathi, a committee member, who had learnt the cullinary skills from her late mother (India). The group members were too eager to learn the skill and urged her to demonstrate on how to prepare the common South Indian Breakfast - i.e. 'Thosai' and 'Idly'.

The class started at 1.00pm with an attendance of ___ members.

Mdm Retnam was behind the scene providing the necessary help for Mdm Amaravathi. Ms Rahmah Chemat was the translator.

All participants were invited to the demo area for a closer look at the ingredients and how the two dishes are being prepared.

Handouts of the recipe and method of preparing the item was distributed to all registered members. Besides this, another handout on 'Health Tips' about Diseases of the Joints, namely Arthritis and Rheumatism was given to all.

Participants were very curious and paid full attention while the class was on. It was an interesting class with good participation from the members.

This was yet another successful cuisine class organised by KCC-IAEC.

Please look out for our next cuisine in 2 weeks time. Due to an overwhelming response, participants are urged to register first with the CC staff in order to avoid any disappointment.
